Tornadoes in Central Georgia - Photos

On Thursday, March 1, 2007 severe thunderstorms moved across Central Georgia, producing several tornadoes that resulted in significant damage in several counties. At least two tornadoes caused fatalities (Taylor and Sumter Counties), while others caused injuries. According to survey teams from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia, the tornadoes ranged in intensity from EF0 to EF3.

In Taylor County...the tornado tracked from 3 miles southwest of Potterville to 2 miles east of Reynolds. It was rated EF2. Length was approximately 7 miles and maximum width of a quarter mile. Heaviest damage was southwest of Potterville where one death and four injuries occurred.
