Tornadoes in Central Georgia - Photos

On Thursday, March 1, 2007 severe thunderstorms moved across Central Georgia, producing several tornadoes that resulted in significant damage in several counties. At least two tornadoes caused fatalities (Taylor and Sumter Counties), while others caused injuries. According to survey teams from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia, the tornadoes ranged in intensity from EF0 to EF3.

In Wilkinson County...The tornado tracked from 4.5 miles southwest of Nicklesville to 9 miles northeast of Nickelsville. It was rated EF2. Path length 13.5 miles and maximum width of a half mile. Most damage occurred along state highway 112.
