Upson County EMA and local officials being recognized by StormReady Advisory Committee
Upson County EMA Director Billy Mitcham and other dignitaries
On June 14, 2001 Georgia's StormReady Executive Board called a press conference in order to recognize Upson County as a "StormReady Community". A Certificate of Recognition and StormReady street signs were presented to Mr. Billy Mitcham, Director of Upson County Emergency Management and local officials. Making the presentation were Mr. Lans Rothfusz, Meteorologist-in-Charge, and Mr. Barry Gooden, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City. GEMA representative Blair Raddatz was also on hand.
