Barry Gooden presents certificate to Mr. Smith
On Thursday, March 7, 2002 Georgia's StormReady Executive Board met with dignitaries from Jackson County, including Mr. Harold Fletcher, Chairman of the county Board of Commissioners, and Mr. Dwain Smith, Director of the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency. The purpose - to publicly recognize the county as a "StormReady Community". A Certificate of Recognition and StormReady street signs were presented. Making the presentation were Mr. Barry Gooden, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, and and Dan Yeargin, GEMA's Area Field Coordinator.
