Wind damage in at least 5 counties...
During the afternoon and evening hours of April 11, 2008, conditions were somewhat favorable for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes across North Georgia. This prompted the Storm Prediction Center to issue a Tornado Watch for portions of north Georgia (see below). Fortunately, there were apparently no tornadoes. However some of the strongest storms produced large hail and damaging winds. The culprit in causing these storms was a cold front that pushed into the state. It started the day to our west and caused damaging storms in neighboring states to our west and north. Radar images for the following storms...
