In the predawn hours of Sunday April 15, 2007 severe thunderstorms moved across Central Georgia, producing damage across a number of counties - generally in a swath from Crisp County east to Emanuel County. Much of this damage was caused by several tornadoes. There have been reports that more than one person was injured during the event. In Johnson County... An EF1 tornado crossed the southern portion of the county. It touched down at 2:04am EDT in Laurens County 5 miles southeast of Dublin. The tornado tracked northeast and lifted around 2:24am about 5 miles southwest of Kite. Total path length was 19 miles. Maximum path width was 100 yards. Maximum wind speed was 100 mph. The tornado damaged or destroyed several outbuildings. Some homes received minor damage. A church 5 miles north of Scott received minor damage - including a family life center that was shifted slightly. Photo pages...
