In the predawn hours of Sunday April 15, 2007 severe thunderstorms moved across Central Georgia, producing damage across a number of counties - generally in a swath from Crisp County east to Emanuel County. Much of this damage was caused by several tornadoes. There have been reports that more than one person was injured during the event. In Dodge County...TWO tornadoes... The second tornado touched down at 4:25am EDT about 1 mile south of Eastman and traveled northeast...lifting at around 4:40 pm EDT about 3.5 miles east of Eastman. Path length was 4.5 miles with path width 200 yards. This tornado was rated EF2, with a maximum wind speed of 120 mph. The county Road Department garage was destroyed. A nearby home suffered significant damage with part of its roof and patio removed, and part of an exterior wall knocked down. A barn was destroyed. Several homes received minor damage. Two mobile homes that were unsecured were also destroyed. Photo pages...
