Meet the "Hurricane Hunters" in Peachtree City

The Air Force Reserve "Hurricane Hunters" (a.k.a. 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron) are bringing their special hurricane-penetrating Lockheed-Martin WC-130J to Falcon Field in Peachtree City on Saturday June 13, 2009. The crew from the 403rd Wing, based at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi will be available to meet the public, and will be conducting tours of their aircraft between the hours of 11am and 6pm EDT.

special event logo Their visit is sponsored by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City in recognition of "Hurricane Awareness" and kick off of the 2009 Hurricane Season. The Red Cross and other Emergency Management agenies will be invited to participate.

Admission is FREE. Parking is FREE. After parking, walk to the left side of the airport terminal building to gain access to the exhibits, aircraft, and crew.
