The dry February to March 10th pattern broke down quickly
March 11th, shifting to wet for the rest of the month, with
a rainfall rally that made March 2007 one of the wetter months
of March on record. March 2007 ended up easily the wettest
March at San Antonio since 1871; the 2nd wettest March at
Austin Bergstrom since 1943; the 8th wettest March at Austin Mabry
since 1856; and the 9th wettest March at Del Rio since 1906.

March 2007 came in dry and cool and changed quickly to mild and
very wet from the 11th to the 31st. A freeze came on the
mornings of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th, in wake of a cold front
on the 2nd, when cold air came across the area from the
north and northeast. On the 11th a very wet pattern
emerged, bringing very heavy rains, flooding and severe
weather to the area from the night of the 11th to the
13th. Another wave of heavy rain, flooding and severe
weather returned the night of the 25th to day of the 26th.
The final wave of heavy rains and severe weather came
on the 30th. Most all of March 2007 rains came from
the 3 weather events of the 11th to 13th; the 26th;
and the 30th.
The updated outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for
April
calls for the average monthly temperature to have Equal Chances
of being above, below or near normal.
The rainfall outlook calls for a 33.3 to 40 percent chance of
above normal rain, a 33.3 percent chance of near normal rain,
and a 26.7 to 33.3 percent chance of below normal rain.

Highest wind gust was 39 mph from the north, northeast in
wake of a cold front on the 3rd.
Rainfall was 6.00 inches, 3.64 inches above normal.
March 2007 was the 2nd wettest March at Austin Bergstrom
since 1943.
Rainfall from January 1st to March 31st was 13.78 inches or
