June 2007 Weather in Review
|
The spring storminess, left over from March to May this
year, spilled over to June; however, this is not too
uncommon as June is usually one of the wetter months of
the year. From the 1971 to 2000 30 Year Normals,
June is the wettest of all 12 months
at Del Rio; the 2nd wettest at Austin Bergstrom and
San Antonio; and the 3rd wettest month of the year at Austin Mabry.
June 2007 was the wettest June since 2004.
The month ended up the 6th wettest June at
Austin Bergstrom with 7.49 inches of rain.
Rainfall at Austin Mabry in June 2007 was 5.41
inches, the 22nd wettest June; at San Antonio 6.47 inches,
the 19th wettest June; and at Del Rio 4.61 inches of rain,
the 14th wettest June.

wettest Junes and information on the average June rainfall.
Rainfall at Burnet Airport was 11.55 inches
of rain, with 3.61 inches coming June 27th.
Flooding on the night of the 26th to the early morning of June 27th
over Llano and Burnet Counties was caused by showers and
thunderstorms, that left as much as 10 to 20 inches of rain
at some locations in Burnet and Llano Counties.
This rain fell in less than 6 hours time.
January to June 2007 rainfall was in the wettest 10 percent
of the first half of all calendar years.
