STORM DATA.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR THE TOWN ON MOULTON IN LAVACA COUNTY ON 9/07/2010.

AS TROPICAL STORM HERMINE MOVED NORTH THROUGH SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
AND INTO THE HILL COUNTRY ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 7, A TORNADO
FORMED ALONG HIGHWAY 95 IN BETWEEN SHINER AND MOULTON IN LAVACA
COUNTY. THIS TORNADO FORMED IN A SERIES OF INTENSE TROPICAL RAIN
SHOWERS WHICH MOVED NORTH ACROSS THE WESTERN SIDE OF LAVACA
COUNTY. VERY OFTEN WEAK TROPICAL TORNADOES FORM IN THE FRONT RIGHT
QUADRANT OF A LAND FALLING TROPICAL SYSTEM.

THE TORNADO FORMED ON 09/07/2010 AROUND 337 PM ALONG HIGHWAY 95
APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE SOUTH OF MOULTON IN LAVACA COUNTY. THIS IS
VERY NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 95 AND COUNTY ROAD 271. A
PORTION OF A ROOF WAS BLOWN OFF AN ABANDONED BUILDING WITH A TREE
ALSO BEING UPROOTED ON THE PROPERTY. THE TORNADO MOVED NORTH ALONG
THE EAST SIDE OF HIGHWAY 95 AND TRAVELED THROUGH A CORN FIELD
WHERE THE TRACK WAS CLEARLY VISIBLE . THE TORNADO THEN LIFTED OR
WEAKENED JUST SOUTH OF MOULTON AFTER TRAVELING 0.2 MILES. MAXIMUM
WIND SPEEDS ARE BEING ESTIMATED AT 65 MPH WITH A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF
50 YARDS. THIS TORNADO IS BEING RATED AS AN EF0 ON THE ENHANCED
FUJITA SCALE. NO INJURIES OR DEATHS WERE REPORTED WITH THIS
TORNADO.

A POSSIBLE TORNADO WAS ALSO SEEN ON RADAR TUESDAY AFTERNOON JUST
EAST OF THE AUSTIN BERGSTROM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT NEAR
WEBBERVILLE. A DAMAGE SURVEY DID NOT FIND ANY DAMAGE AND THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CANNOT CONFIRM ANY TOUCHDOWN AT THIS
TIME.
