Station I.D.

NOAA Weather Radio Station WXK25 broadcasts 24 hours a day from the NWS office at the Dona Ana County Airport in Santa Teresa, NM.  The transmitter for this station is located on Franklin Mountain in El Paso, TX.   Broadcast frequency is 162.475 mHZ, with an authorized power output of 100 Watts.  Effective listening distance from the transmitter location is approximately 40 miles, depending on topography.

Station I.D.

NOAA Weather Radio Station WXL91 broadcasts 24 hours a day from the NWS office at the Dona Ana County Airport in Santa Teresa, NM.   The transmitter for this station is located on "A" Mountain in Las Cruces, NM.  Broadcast frequency is 162.400mHZ, with an authorized power output of 100 Watts.  Effective listening distance from the transmitter location is approximately 40 miles, depending on topography.

When severe weather is occurring or immanent in any one of the blue counties above, the NWS will send out a toned alert over the El Paso transmitter.  This alert will activate specially built receivers to turn on with a loud audible alarm, followed by warning information.
When severe weather is occurring or immanent in any one of the blue counties above, the NWS will send out a toned alert over the Las Cruces transmitter.  This alert will activate specially built receivers to turn on with a loud audible alarm.  Warning information will then follow the alarm..
