Come Visit NWS Brownsville at the Air Fiesta!
Weekend of Fun Planned February 22 and 23

The National Weather Service office in Brownsville will be hosting a display during the 2014 Air Fiesta, sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force, Rio Grande Valley Wing. There are plenty of activities, and many things to see for kids of all ages at this year’s Air Fiesta. This year, the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team comes to town, performing daring maneuvers with the American At–6 Texan aircraft, which was used as the primary training platform for all U.S. Airmen in World War II designated to fly fighter aircraft. Others expected to appear include Matt Younkin and Kyle Franklin, who returns to the Air Fiesta three years after an unfortunate accident at the 2011 Air Fiesta ultimately took the life of his wife, Amanda, an expert "wing–walker".

All are invited to stop by our booth, located in the RGV Commemorative Air Force Hangar located at 955 S. Minnesota Avenue, just south of the main terminal at the Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport. Visit with local meteorologists, learn about aviation and tropical weather, and check out a weather balloon. Interactive displays, including our famous tornado chamber, will be available for all to enjoy and experience. Come on out and have fun with us! is the U.S. government's official web portal to all federal, state and local government web resources and services.
