|NWS Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley Outreach Calendar
As summer winds lazily toward the start of the 2011/2012 school year, your National Weather Service in Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley is ready to hit the road – again – and be part of a growing number of community activities, ranging from hurricane preparedness as we head toward the heart of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season, to science–related activities for children of all ages as we approach September. Several events have already been scheduled, including a fishing tournament, a health fair, and an event focusing on the Ocean. Persons living near the events listed below are welcome to attend; admission is free in most cases, but the information is priceless.
If you have an event planned later this summer or early next autumn and you'd like to have our staff come and provide weather information, please give us a call or drop us an e–mail and we’ll do our best to accomodate you. In addition to conferences and town hall meetings, we’ve participated in expos and fair for young and old, health clinic events, school visits, spotter training, and much more. To schedule your event, call us at (956)-504-1432. Or, check our outreach page for a list of specific contacts to meet your needs.
We hope to come to an event near you later this summer and autumn!
