A weak tornado briefly touched down along County Road 44 near Talahatta Springs. A funnel cloud was reported just a couple of minutes before near Opine. The weak tornado blew down several trees and power lines and damaged the roof of a small meat processing plant. No injuries were reported. Large hail was also reported with the storm.

An F1 tornado touched down between State Highway 28 and the railroad tracks, just south of the Chickasaw Bogue. This location was approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Jefferson Station or 2.6 miles northwest of Linden. the tornado tracked southeastward and paralleled State Highway 28, then moved into Linden. The tornado dissipated near the intersection of State Highway 28 and Shiloh Street in Linden. Numerous trees and scattered power lines were blown down along the path of the tornado. A large tree fell on a home and completely destroyed the homes garage doors. One large light post at a ball field was snapped off. One other home sustained minor roof damage. The tornado damage path was 2.6 miles long and 150 yards wide at its widest point.

A brief tornado occurred within a larger scale bow echo. The tornado produced localized damage by knocking down trees on at least two homes. The downburst with maximum winds of 80 mph knocked down trees on several homes and car ports.

The tornado touched down several times along a 5 mile path beginning approximately two miles south of the Salem community, and ending three miles southwest of Elkmont. Several trees were either uprooted or snapped along the path, but no other property damage was observed.

A weak tornado was filmed by a law enforcement official near US Highway 84, west of Opp. The tornado remained over an open field and the only damage found were a few trees blown down.

A weak tornado touched down near a home in the Straughn community. The weak tornado stayed on the ground for about a mile. The tornado damaged a home that had just been repaired from damage that it received during hurricane Ivan. The home suffered roof and siding damage from the tornado. A pump house was also destroyed. Several trees were also blown down. Although someone was in the attic of the home when the tornado damaged the roof, they were not injured.

An F0 tornado began near the crest of Shades Mountain in Bluff Park. This tornado traveled east southeast, moving through Bluff Park and Hoover, and ended near Rocky Ridge Road just east of Interstate 65. At least 73 homes were damaged, mainly by fallen trees. At least 5 homes suffered major damage. Several automobiles were damaged or destroyed by fallen trees. Several businesses along US 31 and on Lorna Road sustained varying degrees of roof damage. Numerous trees were knocked down, snapped off, or uprooted along the path. The tornado path was 4.24 miles long and 150 yards wide at its widest point.

An F0 tornado touched down just east of Virginia Drive and traveled east southeast across the southern part of Hueytown. The tornado crossed Hueytown Road and ended just west of Brookline Drive. At least 20 homes were damaged by falling trees and 6 homes suffered major damage. The tornado path was 1.7 miles long and 150 yards wide at its widest point. Thousands of electric customers were left without power for several hours after the storm.

A tornado touched down 1.6 miles south-southwest of Wedowee or just west of CR 15. The tornado crossed CR 15 and US 431 where a restaurant and several other buildings suffered minor damage. The tornado continued on an east-northeast path crossing through primarily rural areas damaging a few buildings and downing a large number of trees. Tornado intensity varied along the path and in some locations there was significant tree damage with some trees splintered. The tornado crossed through the Napoleon area and crossed CR 39 before ending close to the Alabama-Georgia state line. Damage toward the end of the path became very minor.

A small tornado touched down south-southeast of Ashland just west of SR 77 and the Wellborn Cabinet Plant. The weak tornado was observed by a number of people and did very little damage. Besides downing a few small trees, the tornado damaged a couple of light posts at the cabinet plant.

A weak tornado touched down in the western part of Clay County in the Talladega National Forest. One house sustained minor damage to the siding and exterior trim and a number of trees were downed along the path. The path extended from the west side of CR 18 across an isolated area just north of Mcgehee Mountain to just east of Bolton Road.

A developing supercell storm gained strength rapidly as it developed over southern Shelby County moving eastward producing a tornado just south-southeast of Wilsonville. The tornado downed trees and damaged several structures in a residential area on the west side of the Coosa River in Shelby County, crossed the river (boundary between Shelby and Talladega counties), and downed numerous trees in a rural area on the east side of the river. This was the first of several tornadoes from this one thunderstorm.

An F1 tornado began just west of SR 21 west-southwest of Munford and traveled on an easterly path taking it across SR 21 just north of Curry. The tornado traveled an additional 3 miles or so ending just inside the Talladega National Forest. The tornado downed numerous trees and power lines. At least one house was destroyed and several were damaged.

This was the first of two tornadoes to touch down in St. Clair County. It began at the intersection of SR174 and Cook Springs Road northwest of Pell City. The tornado traveled southeasterly through the Bowman Circle and Stewarts areas crossing Mineral Springs Road and lifting just before reaching Interstate 20 (between exits 156 and 158). The tornado downed many trees and power lines and also damaged a few buildings in the area. At least one mobile home was destroyed.

A tornado caused damage about 1 mile north of the town of Aspel, near the intersection of County Roads 11 and 101. The tornado path was approximately ½ mile long, 100 yards wide, beginning on the west side of County Road 11. The path began behind a home located on CR11. No damage was noted to the home, but several trees within 50 yards of the home were snapped off or blown down. Across CR11, two homes were struck and both received minor damage. One of the residents was asleep when the tornado struck. He said the storm was loud, rousing him from his sleep, and it was over by the time he realized what was happening. A window on the right front of his home was sucked out, a large Cedar tree just to the left of the home was broken off just above the ground and found by a back fence, approximately 300 yards northeast. Several large trees were knocked over in the backyard, and a fallen tree killed two cows. A large barn was heavily damaged, and another smaller barn had its tin roofing pulled off. The second home sustained some roof damage due to a fallen tree along with a few shingles being torn off. Several trees were also knocked down in the front yard.

A waterspout moved over the marshlands between Little Lagoon and Oyster Bay. The storm dissipated over the marshlands and no damage was found. No injuries were reported.

A weak tornado touched down briefly south of Huntsville at the corner of Airport Road and Memorial Parkway. The awning of a Winn Dixie was ripped off. It was seen and video taped by several citizens and by a Channel 31 meteorologist.

A short tornado hit the Big Cove area of southeast Madison County damaging several houses and the wastewater treatment plant. A busienss with machinery outside and several tin-roofed buildings were also damaged. One older house that appeared abandoned was destroyed.

A short but powerful tornado struck the area northwest of Meridianville destroying four homes along with major damage to two otehrs and minor damage to twelve more. The tornado path began in an hope area just southwest of the Colonial Golf Course. The torndo moved through a small subdivision on the north and east sides of the golf course and moved into an open area again as it dissipated.

A tornado, rated at F2 on the Fujita scale, struck the southern and eastern sections of Athens in Limestone County. The tornado path began about 2 miles south-southwest of Athens near the intersection of Sanderfer Road and County Road 45. The tornado moved northeasterly crossing through southern and eastern sections of Athens. It crossed the intersection of State Road 127 and US 72 where several businesses were damaged. Some damage was caused at Athens Middle School. The tornado continued northeast dissipating near the intersection of Proyr Street and US 31 near Athens High School. According to EMA officals, siz homes were destroyed, 14 homes sustained major damage, and an additional 14 homes had minor damage. Three apartment buildings, each with eight units, were damaged, 13 businesses had major damage, and two businesses reported minor damage. Of the 12 injuries, two were described as serious.
