Pickensville Tornado - January 10, 2008

National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed storm damage in Pickens County, in Pickensville, and determined that the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with estimated maximum winds of 60 mph. The tornado damage path was about a 75 yards long, and 50 yards wide.

The tornado briefly touched down at 310 PM on the west side of Pickensville, and was on the ground for less than a minute. One storage barn was destroyed.

A Tornado Warning was in effect for this area from 248 PM until 330 PM. A Tornado Watch was in effect from 1134 AM until 7 PM.
