Supercell thunderstorms produced 5 tornadoes across Central Alabama on April 11th. These supercells also produced very large hail...up to grapefruit and softball size...that covered the ground in several places. Supercell 1 moved from southern Sumter County...through southern Elmore...and into Russell County. Supercell 2 moved from western Bibb County through Chambers County. Most of the other storms exhibited rotation but were shorter lived.
