Hurricane Ivan made landfall near Gulf Shores Alabama just past 2:00 AM Thursday
September 16, 2004. The tropical system moved to near Uniontown(Perry County)
around Noon...moved through the Birmingham Metro Area between 6 and 7 PM (Jefferson &
Shelby County)...then exited northeastAlabama near Gadsden and Centre (Etowah & Cherokee)
around midnight. The center of Ivan enters the bottom left of the radar depiction
around 1137Z or 637 AM CDT. These images are from the Montgomery Nexrad Radar (KMXX) located in northern Macon County.
