KHTX Storm Relative Velocity Loop

This is a loop of 0.5 degree storm relative velocity.

Key times to watch for:
  • A tornado starts at approximately 1:25 PM CST or 1925 UTC just southeast of Oneonta and continued moving northeast to the Altoona area [read the survey]. Another tornado was produced by this storm in the Peaks Corner area around 2:25 PM CST or 2024 UTC [read the survey]


  • A tornado was produced in the Good Hope area of Marshall County around 1:41 PM CST or 1941 UTC [read the survey]


  • A severe storm produces a tornado that starts in the Trussville area of Jefferson County around 1:31 PM CST or 1931 UTC. The storm continues northeast into St. Clair County to the Argo area. [read the survey] This same storm moves across Etowah County, Gadsden area, and moves into Cheorkee County producing a deadly tornado in the Sand Rock area. Sand Rock [read the survey] is just off these images to the northeast of Gadsden or Southeast of Crossville.
