December 18, 1996, Snowfall

The graphic below shows the results of the winter storm that affected much of Alabama on December 18, 1996. The graphic was prepared from a combination of reports collected from the county warning points and Emergency Management Agencies as well as satellite data. This graphic is intended to show the extent of the winter storm and does not attempt to show precise snow values. Measuring snow is a difficult task, and variations in amounts are possible especially with varying terrain.

Snowfall amounts across parts of Alabama.
