Our Website has changed a little!!

In the coming weeks, you will see some changes with the NWS websites.  In an effort to become more efficient with the server space that is available to us, we have decided to consolidate a few things.  What does this mean for our daily users? Not a whole lot. The main change will be that our products are going to be in different places.  But, in time, as we work through the kinks, we know all of our customers are going to like the new-look NWS website.

We know certain products NWS Birmingham issues are used more than others, so here's an attempt to show you where those products can now be found and some of the new things that will benefit everyone:

Hazardous Weather Outlook

The Hazardous Weather Outlook is still being published 3 times a day, every day, it's just in a slightly different place.  Along the left hand side of the home page, you can now access the Hazardous Weather Outlook by clicking on "Outlooks".

Submiting Storm Reports

Getting timely storm damage reports is important!  You may now submit Storm Reports via our webpage by clicking on "Submit Storm Reports" in our left-hand main menu.  Please be thorough when filling out the form.

 Multimedia Impact Weather Briefing

The Multimedia Impact Weather Briefing is still being published twice a day, it too, is in a new place.  These tabs are located on the front page and the briefing can now be found by click on the multimedia tab on the right.

COMING SOON:                                                      You will be able to download the briefing in mp3 and iPod formats!

Graphicasts

We will continue issuing graphicast and they will include a couple of new features!  First, in the first picture below is a tab "NEAR TERM".  In the future we could issue other types of graphicasts and they would be labeled with their own tab, such as the TROPICAL below, which you could click on.

Second, if you click on the image, you will bring up a another webpage in which the graphicast will be displayed with some text below the image giving a little more in-depth explanation of what's going on.
