National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office

On Thursday, September 18th, the National Weather Service in Birmingham and the Management Staff of Quintard Mall in Oxford, Alabama hosted the 4th Annual Weather Safety and Awareness Day. This event marked the continued partnership between Quintard Mall and NWS through the StormReady Supporter Program and provided an excellent opportunity to discuss severe weather and preparedness plans for the upcoming Fall Severe Weather Season. Over 15 vendors participated along with local television affiliates from ABC and CBS. The highlight of the day was the awards ceremony for the poster contest, in which over 250 posters were received from elementary schools across the area.
