Cooperative Service Awards

By Tabatha Tripp

Awards are given out every 5 years starting at 10 years of service to individual observers. Cooperative observers at sites considered institutions receive awards every 25 years.
Diane Link of Dalhart, Texas received her 15 year Length of Service (LOS) award. Mrs. Link will be moving to Alabama this January and hopes to support the NWS cooperative network when she is settled there. She was kind enough to contact a new observer, Mr. Ben Fort of XIT Feeders to assume cooperative observing duties.
Malcolm Shelton, Herbert and Carol Vines of Bravo Ranch (along Texas/New Mexico border) received their 15 year LOS award.

Louis Stas of Wheeler, Texas and the Wheeler Times received his 25 year LOS award.
Fred Hale of Notla, Texas received his 20 year LOS award. Thank you to his wife Louann for an enjoyable visit. Jeanne Thompson of Hartley 4ESE, Texas received her 10 year LOS award. Mrs. Thompson is a gifted gardener and recommended her son Danny as a cooperative observer. We appreciate his willingness to start a new reporting site in the city of Hartley.
