More Weather Grids Become
Official Roland Nuñez Senior Forecaster |
![]() |
The
National Weather Service (NWS) has declared three more digital weather
element grids official: Temperature, Dew Point Temperature, and Weather.
Combined with the Maximum (High) Temperature, Minimum (Low) Temperature,
and 12 hour Probability of Precipitation which previously became operational,
these six weather grids are part of the NWS’s effort to provide
you accurate and detailed forecasts in a graphical form. Other experimental forecast elements are available, including sky cover, quantitative precipitation (QPF), snow amount, wind direction, and wind speed. These elements will continue to be experimental until software upgrades and final quality assessments are completed. These grids are available in the national scale at: http://weather.gov/forecasts/graphical/sectors/ For a look at our regional forecast: http://weather.gov/forecasts/graphical/sectors/southplains.php If you prefer more detailed information for the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/ifps/ama/GFE/ |
