Does the Canadian River Valley Influence Snowfall Accumulations?

Meteorologist Chris Kimble addresses this question in a study he completed this year.  Mr. Kimble was an Intern with the National Weather Service in Amarillo but moved on to a forecaster position with the NWS in Gray, Maine.  However, during his time in Amarillo, he was intrigued by the subtle terrain features in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles that seemed to influence snow accumulations.  What resulted is this wonderful research paper, which points out how the Canadian River Valley affects snowfall.
