Seasonal precipitation anomalies from late Spring through mid Summer showed above normal precipitation across Coastal Climate Divisions of North Carolina into Virginia with near normal to slightly below normal precipitation across remaining sections of the southeastern United States. Stream flows prior to the heavy rainfall were generally near normal to below normal compared to 30 year historical flows (USGS).
