ABRFC Significant Flood OutlookThe Significant Flood Outlook Potential identifies areas where significant river flooding is possible, likely or imminent up to five days in the future, using up to 120 hours of forecast precipitation. ABRFC defines significant river flooding as flooding in the moderate, major, or record flood categories. In general, flooding of moderate category or greater will result in conditions that adversely affect roads, residential, commercial, industrial, and/or agricultural areas and may require evacuation of people and/or livestock. Within the map below, click on any area of interest to scale down to the corresponding local NWS office river forecast page. The official forecasts at specific points on these local NWS office pages use 12 hours of forecast precipitation, thus discrepancies may appear between official forecasts and the outlook areas shows on this page. |
