August between 3 and 8 pm
- Forecasters use the observation network, radars,
satellites, human reports, and all other available data to detect
and warn for flash floods
- All instruments and data have limitations
- NM’s flash
floods can strike quickly in complex terrain or at long range from
radar, where they are difficult to detect and where NOAA Weather Radio
signals may not reach
- Weather wise media & public can prepare
for this dangerous threat and react appropriately when flash floods
