Robert W. Prunty, long time
co-op observer in Red River was presented the "John Campanius
Holm Award" in August 1979 and the "Thomas Jefferson
Award" in November 1989. Bob has been the weather
observer for Red River since 1956 and before that his family operated the
coop weather station between 1932 and 1956 - nearly 75 years of
continuous weather record keeping in the Prunty family! The
picture to the left was taken in 2001, when Bob received his 45-year
length of service award. Bob has resided in Red River since about
1921 and was the Postmaster between 1932 and 1987.
