Total Precipitation & Average Temperatures for Albuquerque by Decade
 
The graphs below show precipitation and temperature data for each of the last 11 decades (since 1900). The top graph shows total precipitation for each decade from the 1900s to the 2000s (1900-2009). The 1950s were the driest with 1950 through 1956 exceptionally dry during the 'dust bowl" years. The 1980s and 1990s had the two highest precipitation totals. The first decade of the 2000s started out quite dry with drought conditions common from 2001 into 2005.
 
 
 
The graph below shows average temperatures for each decade since the early 1900s. The 1950s stand out as a warm decade, corresponding well to the dry conditions during much of that decade. Note the impressive warming trend from the 1970s through the first decade of the 2000s.
