Starting back in June 2007, the National Weather Service has been sending out monthly spotter newsletters. These newsletters discuss current and future weather, reinforce elements of the training gained through the spotter course, and update spotters on any new information. If you would like to be included on the email list for these newsletters, please contact Kelly Godsey. You can also find any past spotter newsletters through the links below.

    Don't forget about our online spotter course. Even if you have already taken our online spotter course, you can access the course any time.

    Starting September 24, 2007, the Tallahassee National Weather Service Office will begin issuing graphical hazardous weather outlooks each day. To learn more about this new product, please take this training module.

    Tallahassee is updating its SKYWARNTM spotter and contact database:
    If you are a SKYWARNTM spotter who is willing to be contacted by the NWS for eyewitness reports of severe weather, we want to be sure you are included in our database. Please e-mail Kelly Godsey and be sure to include as much of the following information as possible:


    Name

    Business

    Call sign

    Club affiliation

    Specific location (for example, 6 miles NW of Cairo on Hwy 112)

    Latitude/Longitude

    Mailing Address (include county and ZIP code)

    Primary and secondary phone numbers

    Primary and secondary phone types (e.g., home, work, cell, pager, etc.)

    E-mail address(es)

    Hours and locations available for SKYWARNTM operations

    Equipment (e.g., mobile, packet)

    Previous SKYWARNTM training and experience

    Suggestions for SKYWARNTM operations with the NWS at Tallahassee
